Team Affinity Showdown (Season 1) Walkthrough (Mission Descriptions, Basic Strategy)

Entry Cost

500 stubs

Overall Strategy

Get Left-Handed Hitters (or Right-Handed Hitters who have good stats against RHP)

As you may notice below, I faced many right-handed pitchers. During my first playthrough (which I used to get this information) I had a stacked power lineup, but consisted almost exclusively of right-handed hitters. I still did well enough by coming one run short of beating the final boss, but you can make your life easier targeting left-handed hitters when they are available.

Missions

Note: Sometimes there is more than one mission that can be offered for each stage. I will update as I play the Team Affinity Showdown (Season 1) a few times.

1st Stage – WILLY BABY| Difficulty=Veteran

Situation

Willy Adames showed that he was not just a great glove in 2020, slugging eight home runs or the Rays. Playing against the Rays with your Showdown Squad, tally four total bases without giving up one run in two innings.

Duration 2 innings
Goals Tally 4 total bases
Allow 0 runs
Showdown Runs Awarded 2 Final Showdown runs
Showdown Draft Picks 1 Gold Live Series Hitter
1 Gold Perk
Other Rewards 100 stubs

Note: The mission will end once you reach 4 total bases. For example, I hit a home run with my 2nd batter (Keston Hiura!) and did not have to pitch at all.

2nd Stage – BO FLOWS | Difficulty=Veteran

Situation

In Bo Bichette’s big league career, he has yet to hit under .300 in a season. Playing against the Blue Jays with your Showdown Squad, tally two total bases without giving up one hit in two innings

Allow 0 hits
Showdown Runs Awarded 2 Final Showdown runs
Showdown Draft Picks 1 Gold Live Series Hitter

Strategy

You will be facing Hyun-Jin Ryu for the Blue Jays. You may consider maximizing your lineup by moving hitting who are more effective against left-handed pitchers to the top of the lineup (typically, your right-handed hitters will fare better against lefties).

3rd Stage – BIG DOM | Difficulty=Veteran

Wesley Lyles

Wesley is a jack of all trades hobbyist. Though much of his spare time is spent playing board games (especially solo card games like Legendary), Hearthstone, Rocket League, and MLB The Show.e He also enjoys most sports, but pays way too much attention to baseball and football.
